Swift discovered a love for music from a young age and she progressed quickly from roles in children's theatre and her first public appearance in front of an audience of tens of thousands. Swift was eleven years old when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match. In the following year Swift began to write songs and got a guitar. Swift became inspired to compose her own songs by the music of country category, like Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift relocated from Pennsylvania with her parents in Tennessee to Hendersonville when she turned 13 to devote more time to contacting label representatives from the country genre.
